Job Description |

Head
Coach |
l
Responsible for managing the assigned EPTFA
team and coaching staff throughout the season l
Acts as team lead coach, teacher, track
enthusiast, communicator, and parent contact l
Provide regular communication to the team (kids
& parents) throughout the season (i.e., pre-season
announcements, coaching tips, weekly announcements, team meetings,
parent meetings) l
Conduct team awards ceremonies, athlete
recognition, organize team participation at meets, gather team
meet results, record team progress l
Ensure fun and excitement at practices and
meets l
Teach good sportsmanship l
Follow direction of the EPTFA Coaches
Coordinator l
Team/Parent/Coach liaison to EPTFA Coaches
Coordinator and Board of Directors l
Help with set-up and clean-up at each practice
and meet l
Provide feedback to EPTFA for program
improvements l
Delegate responsibilities to assistant coach(es)
and team manager to ensure the above takes place l
Required to attend a Coaching Certification
Clinic hosted by EPTFA, or special arrangements made with the
EPTFA Coaches Coordinator l
Required to be a member of USA Track &
Field Association (see Coaches Coordinator for details) l
Must abide by the rules and policies set forth
by the EPTFA Board of Directors and the USATF association to
ensure a SAFE, SECURE, and POSITIVE experience for each
participant |

Assist head coach as team teacher and track

Work with both the head and assistant coaches
to ensure consistent communication and administration of the team
activities l
Examples: snack
assignments, Team Picture Day, meet results, team meeting
locations (consistent for each practice and meet), team name, help
with parent participation at team meetings, team socials,
distribution of team uniforms, additional EPTFA merchandise, EPHS
& CMS track meet schedules |
